This year has seen the Company go from strength to strength with work coming in almost wholly on recommendation as our reputation for excellence starts to grow.
Our dedicated team of enthusiasts have vast experience between them and whilst we are keen not to specialise purely in Ferrari preparation, Steve and the team have extensive experience of working with Ferraris. Steve Moody has some 24 years continuous Ferrari experience having started at Modena Engineering Ltd in Surrey, where he met Paul "Nod" Noakes who had been at Modena more or less since it's start in the mid 1970's.
In the early 1990's they both moved to Talacrest Ltd of Egham, Surrey where they were able to gain further experience on some of the most desirable road and race Ferraris.
They have both reunited, along with Russ Hancox, a hot rodder at heart with over 20 years restoration, fabrication and competition preparation experience and dealership time spent at Porsche, Morgan and Lancia, at the famous Top Gear Studio site of Dunsfold aerodrome in Surrey. The facility offering a mile long runway and other testing tracks at what was a former British Aerospace aircraft manufacturing facility.
We are fully capable of all types of Ferrari work from a full engine and gearbox rebuild to basic servicing.
It is not uncommon for various other Ferrari specialists to out source work to SMDG Performance Ltd!
We also have extensive race preparation experience culminating in 6 lap records, 5 wins and several places from the cars we prepared last year. In the past our team of enthusiasts have prepared cars for many international races such as Le mans and the Daytona 24 hour race.
David brings with him extensive experience in racing, owning and buying cars. He is a well known and respected name within the world of classic sports and historic racing cars and has dealt with some of the world's rarest cars.
He has a large personal collection of rare classic and racing cars and would be extremely happy to help in sourcing a rare car or advise you when selling your own.
